Yesterday I received some lovely heartfelt valentines from amazing women in my life and this awful grammatically questionable puntiment from the man i am married to. 🤦🏻‍♀️ but he knows the way to my heart is washed fruit so i guess he’s a keeper.
blah blah blah warmer days blah blah toronto snow blah blah blah.
You can watch last week’s 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗲’s featured piece, “excerpts from the domestic cinema - ch. 1” by @postdao #, at l𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗳𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗲.𝗰𝗮/𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹-𝗽𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗲/! • Excerpt from @norqueque’s curatorial response, “This is not to gloss over the middle, where the drama and trauma of history is tended to with the softening of the edges, what are the everyday acts of dish-washing, the snuffing of the alarm clock, and the softest: noncommittal bend of the body as the script falls at the feet.” • @norqueque & i will be discussing some of the heart and thought behind “Archival Pulse” on Feb 13 (tmr!) at 7pm hosted by the always lovely @187augusta ❣️ Make sure you check out the 5 fully available pieces beforehand and come join us :)
Picked up this issue of @acitymadebypeople in Hong Kong this past January. 😌 Interesting to note the lengths of their pieces and the scope of content in relation to their overarching thematic interests. Magazines are such fantastic snapshots of people’s interests and hard work - in capturing zeitgeist but also in offering a view to other ways of living and being in the world. Support independent magazines my friends. They leave an invaluable trace.
街景。Hong Kong.
I am someone who fills more than 50% of my week with quiet, often choosing to spend that quiet alone. Today while reading at the dining table, I looked around every so often (as usual) to see what my free ranging fluffball Sesame was up to, but found him comfortably sprawled near my feet. Even though my bunnies make no sound, the home feels quieter when they aren’t around. They inhabit the world in a comfortable silence I wish I had, keeping me grounded and reminding me to exercise my right to silence and solitude. That in silence my presence is not diminished but made precious. I have been exercising this right the last month and a half and have felt so full, relaxed and fluffy. 😌 i didn’t think wisdom would take the form of floof and sideflops, but I learn everyday. As I journey on in this season that is tough and tender, sorting through grief and grievance, tasting bitterness welling back into sweet, I am coming to much in these moments. May the quiet remain as unassuming as a puddle forming in the rain, or the crocus gone to full bloom and in early wilt. May the quiet remain and make my heart fuller than if it were not present.
Last week’s 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗲 piece, “Tableaux of Modern Bengali Arts” by @mahdi_c , is now up at l𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗳𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗲.𝗰𝗮/𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹-𝗽𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗲/! • Excerpt from @norqueque’s curatorial response, “As we know, the task of the historian is a destructive one – pragmatize ruptures to smooth out and make readable the fabric of time. But, what of the wanderers and those that cannot find footing in this time? How do we make our way back to our mothers’ kitchens?”
Going into the new year with one eye covered and the other eye closed. It’s a real look 👀 // meditation on walking in faith. here’s to another moon year. 😌
Morning mood, despite the cold.

some flowers for the snowy chilly days. (been creating a collection of flowers for future sth) - 내 곁에서 나를 믿어주고 응원해주는 계속 있어 줄 거라는 소중한 사람들 그들이 없으면, 나는 꿈을 꾸지 못한다.
the most special hour of my two week visit / when i put myself to test to be a fun sister / i am grateful we can be friends despite having lived an ocean away since he was born / despite our age difference (which i think my mental age may match his) / that as he grows, he shows care (although i still find it gross that he’s so much taller than me) / to hold the weight to continue to be a sister he will look up to / february is his month and the lead up to his next big step / i believe
i keep thinking about the cotton candy filled blue sky floating above the first day of 2019, and how i’ve never seen such a thing before.
second stop on january 1st morning with my dad: 선유도仙遊島공원 // a hangang river filtration plant which got transformed into a park with a beautiful walkway, an outdoor theatre and arts space, a cafe and others. apparently one of the best of modern korean architecture. - beginning thoughts: to restore, renovate, refurbish. a life; is that possible. or to steer your life into something exciting. something known but unknown, or the other way around. or to enlighten what seems so overused; or rather to believe that it is very much possible.
my favourites from the exhibition by my favourite illustrator. within the collection of vibrant, jarring, playful stories, these two remained silent waiting; or calmly living.
on the first day of twenty eighteen, my dad sent me photos from his early morning adventure to gwacheon museum of contemporary art. - on the first day of twenty nineteen, i joined my dad on his second annual adventure to the museum. we took photos with statues that should not be touched & marvelled at the blanket of clouds glistening in the clear blue sky.
- 스무 살 되면 길을 알 줄 알았지 어디로 가서 뭘 해야 할지 난 변함없이 여전히 빈털터리 Dear Cloud “21세기 히어로는 어디에” - two thousand and eighteen. a constant questioning of what i’m doing and what i want. colouring my everyday, sitting firmly at the back of everything i do. still, yet, still. most importantly, how to dream a dream like the dream i strongly dreamt.
- two thousand and eighteen. i craved even though i knew i would be disappointed, but now looking back, i know i needed it to know what i really need.
// my first and their seventh small theatre concert. my first concert where warmth was felt. ☁️ dear cloud music that my high school self needed. and years later, i fell in love with them more and knew i still need it.
